All academic strategies in the department of agriculture promote the study of the relationship between soils, plants, and animals; application of production, economic and management principles; knowledge of how processes, tools, equipment, structures and skills are sustainably utilized for the production and processing of food, fibre, fuel and other agricultural commodities that have an economic, aesthetic and cultural value.

The above is annually made possible through the triangulation of Agricultural Sciences, Agricultural Management Practices as well as Agricultural Technology subjects offered in the school-based department of agriculture. 

The Supervised Agricultural Experience portion of the  agricultural curriculum is when a student must use the knowledge they  have gained in the classroom instruction and use it in real life  situations.

Teaching and learning activities in the department of agriculture are inclusive of both theoretical and practical assessment tasks. We have a technical workshop and a series of Agribusiness enterprise units which are not only used to blend effective teaching and learning, but also prepare learners who can easily mitigate the challenging life of the 21st century encapsulated with a series of industrial revolutions.

Subjects offered in the school based department of agriculture can be taken with Mathematics, Physical sciences, languages and life orientation.

Reputable institutions of higher learning also use our school based department of agriculture to provide preservice training and development to their students. We also host farmers’ day events where local farmers attend developmental workshops.
